I needed help with a RockShox Brain fork that wasn’t “braining” anymore, so I called for help. They helped me locate the rebuild brain process on their web store. I navigated the process and followed the directions. From initial phone call to receiving the newly rebuilt fork on my front porch - 14 calendar days (10 work days). Very fast and fork is perfect. I sent them an email back in March asking what kind of rebuilt kit I would need for one of their dampers. I emailed them a photo of it so they would know exactly what part I was talking about. Kevin responded and provided a link to the kit. I placed my order and it arrived a few weeks later. I didn’t get around to rebuilding my damper till about 2 weeks ago. I go to replace the seals and some are completely different. I sent them photos to see how they can correct this and as you would guess, they don’t even have the decency to respond to my emails (sent three already). Do not deal with them, worst customer service ever.

Let me first preface this comment by saying that I very rarely leave negative feedback online. That having been said , this time I will make an exception.

I was initially reluctant to place an order on the basis of all the negative online feedback. However, I had previous experience of Risse Racing, having ordered an Astro-5 damper from them many years ago. To be fair, whilst that order took a long time, I was satisfied with the quality of the end product and I felt that the amount of time involved was reasonable considering the damper was custom made.

Therefore I decided to place an order on 25th May 2024 for a seal kit, shaft clamps, bullet tool and a crosslink genesis damper and paid via PayPal to afford me some protection, in case the negative reviews proved to be accurate.

During the next 3 months I was ignored, lied to and messed around on multiple occasions.

Eventually, after 3 months of having repeatedly been led down the proverbial garden path, having had to endure frankly abysmal customer service and with the order still being designated as “pending” on the Risse Racing website, I decided that enough was enough and sent a deadlined email demanding concrete details regarding the status of my order or an explanation and a full refund. Once again no reply. Consequently, I left a negative review on google, which appears to be the most effective way of contacting Kevin as within a couple of hours he had issued a full refund via PayPal.

I am frankly amazed that this company is still in business. Any company that treats their customers with such disdain, doesnt deserve to succeed. Furthermore, this was all so unnecessary as I am generally patient/understanding and in my case Risse Racing had already afforded themselves a decent amount of good will based on previous experience if they had just been honest with me. However, after 3 months it became patently clear that I needed to take my business elsewhere. Consequently, my advice: if you can, avoid this company. You may receive the product you ordered and be satisfied, but just as likely you wont!

Risse Racing Tech helped me with my Fox Alps 4 rebuild. I was going to replace the shock but they are a rare find, so I was happy to find their rebuild services. I am happy with the work and my bike is back!!! I would recommend their services. They received my Alps4 on March 9, 2020 and I received it back from Risse on April 22, 2020. I appreciate Risse getting this done during the global pandemic, so it's hard to criticize, but heads up wise, they don't reply right away, if you contact them about your work status. With that said, thanks Risse Racing Technology for giving my bike new life.

Genesis Shock - A Solid Component

Initially I was concerned given the reviews overall - but when its the only machine shop making parts for this raven, choices are slim!

That said - I work in metal manufacturing and there are both labor and supply chain issues plaguing our industry. The communication was not great, BUT Kevin did pick up the phone every time I called to pester. I did not recieve any correspondence without reaching out (until it shipped) which would have been massively appreciated. This is the only reason I docked 1 star.

It did take from the beginning of February to Late May to get my genesis shock, but it is here - and appears a quality piece. Time will tell and I will update this review as needed through time - so far though its a massive kit upgrade on this ole Cannondale! Im happy. Has very good damping and with a slight air adjustment it is full send for this 99!

2023 Update : had an issue with the shock where it was locking up halfway through rebound on every ride. Risse gladly took it back and repaired it with great turnaround. Thanks guys!

My rating is based on my two suspension service transactions over the last two years. I don't know them and 3k miles away. They serviced my Specialized Brain shock and fork and did so quickly and professionally. No hesitation to do it again.

I've bought many airplane parts from RISSE and they recently overhauled a nose wheel strut for me which included a strip and new powder coat. They received my strut on Friday and I got it back the following Friday. That is actually better than it sounds because that time line included return shipping by USPS. Highly recommended!

Was hesitant reading the negative reviews but having an 04 Jekyll they are the only ones anymore who will rebuild the rear shock and man was I impressed with the turn around! I mailed them my shock on 3/27/24, and they got it on 3/29/24. They had it done and shipped back out to me on 4/4/24. Seems they did quality work, this thing was toast and now it's like new again.
